DVC is software that clinics use to run their virtual practice. This page explains, in plain language, what information the platform handles and how it is protected.
Who is responsible for your information
Your clinic decides why and how your health information is used, and is responsible for it. DVC processes that information on the clinic’s behalf to provide booking, the virtual waiting room, video consultations, records and follow-up. Questions about your care record should go to your clinic first.
What we handle
- Account details such as your name, phone number or email.
- Appointments, check-in and queue status, and payment records for your visits.
- Clinical information your clinic records: notes, prescriptions, reports, readings and follow-up plans.
- Readings you choose to bring in from a health app, wearable or medical device you connect.
- Security records such as sign-in activity and an audit trail of who accessed what.
Video consultations
Video and audio travel between you and your doctor through the clinic’s video service while the call is live. DVC does not record consultations.
If you and your doctor both switch on live note-taking, short pieces of the conversation’s audio are turned into text to draft the doctor’s note. Either of you can switch it off at any time.
AI assistance
Some features use AI to help prepare drafts, such as visit notes, care instructions or plain-language explanations. AI output is always a draft: your doctor reviews and approves anything clinical before it reaches your record.
DVC uses open-source AI models only. Depending on your clinic’s AI settings, they run on DVC’s own servers or with a vetted hosting provider, which may be outside Pakistan. A clinic can choose private processing so that AI requests stay on DVC’s servers.
Who can see your information
Only authorised people at your clinic, according to their role. When you share your record through DVC — a link for another doctor, or access for a family member or carer — it shows only what you chose, ends on the date you set, and you can withdraw it sooner; withdrawing caregiver access signs them out straight away. DVC staff access is restricted, requires multi-factor authentication and is recorded in an audit log.
Your choices
You can view your visits and records, download a copy of your health record from your care space, manage the links you’ve shared and who can help with your care, and choose which updates you receive. To correct or delete information, contact your clinic.
Security
Access uses secure sessions; platform administrators must use multi-factor authentication. Sensitive actions are written to an audit trail. No system is perfectly secure, so please keep your sign-in details private.
